Ireland wing Shane Horgan will start on the wing for Leinster when Michael Cheika's side face Magner's Celtic League rivals Cardiff Blues on Saturday.

The Meath man recently completed his recovery from a rib injury but was an unused substitute for Ireland in Paris at the weekend. Game time in the top of the table clash at the RDS will be a welcome boost to Eddie O'Sullivan as he plans for the third Six Nations game against Scotland in Croke Park on Saturday week.

Fellow Ireland internationals Leo Cullen, Luke Fitzgerald, Keith Gleeson, Shane Jennings and Trevor Hogan are also included in Cheika's squad.

Scrumhalf Chris Whitaker also returns to the mix after his recovery from the broken leg that has sidelined him since mid-November, while there are first call-ups for the Leinster academy duo of Felix Jones and outhalf Ian Keatley.

South African prop Ollie Le Roux, Ireland A backrow Stephen Keogh, Gary Brown and Christian Warner also feature in the 24-man squad.

The match affords first-placed Leinster a chance to extend their five-point lead over the Blues at the top of the Celtic League and coach Michael Cheika is looking forward to having Horgan back in the fold following his enforced absence.

"Out of the squad we've got Shane (Horgan), Luke (Fitzgerald) and Leo (Cullen), while there's also the likes of Cian Healy coming back. So it's good for us that they're back," said Cheika. "It'll be good for us to have Shane back because he hasn't played (for Leinster) for a while through his injury, while the other boys will be keen to get back on the field.

"I'm sure he'll be looking forward to the game as well as being a finisher again, because he'll be on the wing for us this week. We'll try to get the ball to him and let him use his experience and strength and take advantage of that.

"I'm sure Fitzgerald will be keen to also take his opportunity to put his case forward, be it on the wing or at full-back."
