Team news:Munster's Anthony Foley will be out of action until the New Year following scans on a shoulder injury sustained in the last-gasp Heineken Cup win over Leicester on Sunday.
The number eight was replaced by Alan Quinlan in the 51st minute at Welford Road after taking a "heavy knock on his shoulder", according a Munster spokesperson.
Foley was not included in this afternoon's Ireland squad for the Autumn internationals, though the official line from the camp was that that decision was made on form.
The injury means that Foley is likely to miss all of Munster's remaining pool games.
Saturday's match against Bourgoin will, in fact, be the first European Cup game the number eight has missed since the side beat Harlequins at The Stoop in 1997.
His absence meant that coach Declan Kidney could confirm today that a backrow of Alan Quinlan, David Wallace and Denis Leamy will start against the French.
Meanwhile, Ulster have been forced into making one change for Friday night's Heineken European Cup match in Llanelli with Andrew Maxwell drafted in to replace the injured Tommy Bowe.
Bowe was a first-half casualty during Ulster's famous 30-3 win over Toulouse at the weekend, a recurrence of a hamstring injury likely to keep him sidelined for up to six weeks.
Maxwell, who came on for Bowe at Ravenhill, will make his fourth appearance in the competition with Scott Young promoted to the replacements bench as cover.
Mark McCall's side will be looking to build on their excellent start to the European campaign at Stradey Park and, having already beaten the Welsh side in the Celtic League this season, travel with plenty of confidence.
Leinster coach Michael Cheika will wait until tomorrow to unveil his hand for the trip to Edinburgh. Both Leinster and Munster will hold off finalising their starting line-ups until later in the week.
