London Irish 59 Dax 7:The Exiles kept up their devastating form in throttling the French outfit and extend their lead over Connacht in Pool One of the European Challenge Cup at the Madejski Stadium tonight.

The Premiership leaders flew out of the blocks with Elvis Seveali'i and James Hudson both running in long-distance efforts in the opening 12 minutes.

Peter Hewat converted both in between slotting over a penalty to put Irish 17-0 but that was to be the end of the scoring in the first half as the understrength Dax side battled hard up to the break.

Bob Casey's side started the second half with the bonus point firmly on their minds and they secured it within 12 minutes through tries from Delon Armitage and a second from Seveali'i to go 31-0 ahead.

Further tries would come from Topsy Ojo and two from Warren Fury before Janie Bornman went over for Dax's only try late on. The score meant they did not suffer a second straight whitewash after losing the home tie 38-0 last weekend.

There was still time for Peter Hewat to run in a final try and make it a perfect night from the placed ball with his eighth conversion for a personal points tally of 24.

London Irish now have a full 20 points from their four games and lead Connacht by 11. Michael Bradley's side take on Italian outfit Rovigo on Friday night.
