Peter O’Mahony scan to be reviewed on Tuesday

Casey Laulala’s injury also due to be assessed after 47-23 win over Toulouse

Munster captain Peter O'Mahony underwent a scan today, the result of which will be reviewed by a specialist tomorrow to determine whether he will require surgery on his damaged left shoulder.

The flanker left the pitch injured after just 19 minutes of Saturday's 47-23 Heineken Cup quarter-final win over Toulouse at Htomonad Park.

Team-mate, centre and try scorer against the French side Casey Laulala sustained a broken bone in his hand and he will also have the damage assessed by a specialist tomorrow.

Munster backs coach Simon Mannix was today confirmed as the new director of rugby with French Pro D2 side Pau, who are chasing promotion to the Top 14.

He will take up his appointment at the end of the season.
