Luke Fitzgerald in line for return after being named on Leinster bench

Provincial team news: Madigan to fullback after Kearney ruled out of Wasps game

Luke Fitzgerald is in line to play his first game since the end of March after he was named in the Leinster replacements for Sunday’s opening European Champions Cup clash against Wasps at the RDS.

The 27-year-old utility back underwent surgery on groin and abdominal problems at the end of last season and has not played since playing 80 minutes in Leinster’s 22-18 Pro12 victory over Munster at the Aviva Stadium on March 29th.

Rob Kearney will miss the game due to the back injury that has been troubling him this season, with Ian Madigan switching from outhalf and Jimmy Gopperth coming in at No 10.

There is one other change in the backs, with Eoin Reddan coming in at scrumhalf for Isaac Boss, who drops to the bench.
