Amica Wronki 0 Rangers 5: Rangers racked up their biggest European win for four years to make sure their debut in the UEFA Cup's new group stage was an unqualified success thanks to goals from Peter Lovenkrands, Nacho Novo, Fernando Ricksen, Shota Arveladze and Steven Thompson.
Lovenkrands showed a killer instinct in the 17th minute as he drilled a low shot past Arkadiusz Malarz.
Within 10 minutes of the restart Dado Prso had headed home a Gregory Vignal cross from the left but a raised flag instantly ruled that one out. The Croatian was back in the danger zone within a minute but sent a shot just wide.
Lovenkrands was replaced by Novo in the 56th minute and, after Chris Burke had fired over, the newcomer made an instant impact by doubling Rangers' advantage to net his fifth goal of the season. Prso was able to claim a clever assist by backheeling a Vignal delivery from the left into the Spaniard's path.
Luck was with Rangers in the 66th minute when Dembinski crashed a lunging effort back off the crossbar after Kryszalowicz had headed on a corner.
Alex McLeish's side responded with the goals that converted a competent victory into a rout. Ricksen lashed home from 20 yards after Prso had set him up and, after Jaroslaw Bieniuk had fouled him in the box, Arveladze made no mistake from the penalty spot. With Thompson having replaced Prso, Arveladze came close to making it five with a shot across goal and wide. With a minute left Thompson headed home a Burke cross.
