Patrice Dockery: Irish Paralympian

"To be so involved with the Irish team at the Paralympics in Sydney was certainly my personal highlight of the year. Coming sixth in the 5,000 metres was nothing but a positive experience and one of the best moments of my whole career. Another memory there was that Louis Savage, my training partner in Australia, won the 800 metre wheelchair race. Of course, I watched the summer Games as well and was especially delighted for Sonia O'Sullivan. I was almost as nervous watching her race as I was for mine. I'm also a big Formula One fan and was in Melbourne early in the year for the Australian Grand Prix, which Michael Schumacher won. That was very cool, and another great memory for me."
