American Football: Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells, a two-time Super Bowl winner, has opted to retire at the age of 65.

American Football:Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells, a two-time Super Bowl winner, has opted to retire at the age of 65.

Best known for guiding the New York Giants to Super Bowl wins in 1987 and 1991, he also took New England to the 1997 NFL finale, losing to Green Bay. He joined Dallas four seasons ago to restore glory to "America's Team", but failed to steer them to a play-off win.

The announcement came 15 days after the Cowboys' season ended with a play-off loss in Seattle. Parcells had been expected to continue into a fifth season in charge.
