Kellie Harrington has sealed her place at the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo after defeating French professional Maiva Hamadouche at the European qualifiers in Paris.

The judges all scored the lightweight bout against the IBF World professional champion in the 31 year-old’s favour (29-26, 29-28, 29-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Roscommon's Aoife O'Rourke also secured her Olympic qualification by defeating Poland's Elzbieta Wojcik on Saturday in Paris.

Her powerful right hook in the final round of the middleweight quarter-final forced a standing count, with the European champion taking a unanimous decision.

The pair join Brendan Irvine and Kurt Walker on the plane to Tokyo. Featherweight Michaela Walsh will guarantee her place in Tokyo by winning her quarter-final on Sunday.
