Jason Quigley remains undefeated after first-round knockout in Massachusetts

Irish super-middleweight Jason Quigley is expected to have his next fight on the Macklin Macklin versus Jorge Heiland undercard at the 3Arena in Dublin on November 15th.

Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, who have signed the Irish orthodox, will make an announcement next week.

Undefeated Quigley improved to three straights wins – all by way of KO – with a first-round knock out of Connecticut's Greg McCoy in Massachusetts on Thursday night.

McCoy went down under a left-right combo 21 seconds from the bell for the end of the first on the Golden Boy/Murphy’s Boxing co-promotion at Plymouth Hall.

McCoy, nicknamed “Quiet Storm”, was outclassed and blown away in the 159 seconds he spent between the ropes with the fired-up Donegal orthodox, who is working on a dream.

“Becoming a world champion, that’s the ultimate dream. It’s a fire burning deep in my belly since I was watching boxing on TV as a young kid with my father,” he said.

If Quigley does fight on the 3Arena card he will be reunited with his ex Irish team mates John Joe Nevin, who is slated to have his third pro outing in Dublin.

Nevin and Quigley won double European Elite gold for Ireland in Belarus last year before turning pro with Tom Moran’s GreenBlood and Golden Boy.

Meanwhile, Ireland will be looking for a rub of the green at Saturday’s draw at the European Junior Championships in Anapa, Russia.

Katie Taylor, Michaela Walsh, Joanne Lambe and Claire Grace arrived in Korea on Friday for a training camp with the host nation ahead of the start of the World Women's Elite Championships in Jeju, Korea on November 16th.

Taylor will be aiming for her fifth successive title in Korea.
