Longford Town ... 0 St Patrick's Athletic ... 1 St Patrick's Athletic did just enough to leap-frog Longford and move up to fifth in the Premier Division table following this single goal victory at Flancare Park on Saturday night.

Both sides had chances to break the deadlock in an exciting opening half. Eric Lavine and Vinnie Perth both went close for Longford while Ger McCarthy missed a glorious chance to give St Patrick's an early lead.

However, the visitors were much the better team after the break and eventually went in front after 62 minutes.

The Longford defence failed to clear McCarthy's corner and Paul Osam was on hand to blast the loose ball past Longford keeper Stephen O'Brien.
