All-Ireland MFC quarter-finals/ Kerry 2-18; Kildare 1-10: Kerry advanced to the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship thanks to this 11-point victory over Kildare at the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick, on Saturday afternoon.
The first-half exchanges were tight enough and at the break, Kerry just about deserved their four-point cushion, 1-6 to 0-5.
Dingle's Mark Evans, who had a goalbound drive saved by Kildare's James Kindregen moments earlier, scored Kerry's first goal on the stroke of half-time.
Evans, who scored 1-7 in all, and Rory Keating tacked further points to stretch the lead to six points within three minutes of the resumption.
Kildare then hit their best form of the day when Ciarán Kelly, Peter Dunne and full-forward Conor Hughes sent over three points to reduce the gap - it was 1-10 to 0-10 after 43 minutes.
Kerry were now under pressure but Shane Murphy and man-of-the-match Darren O'Sullivan responded with three points.
Kerry scored their second goal with nine minutes remaining when Darren O'Sullivan took off on a terrific run upfield before feeding Andrew Kennelly, who found the net from close range - a terrific goal.
Kerry added five more points while Kildare sub Mark O'Sullivan grabbed a consolation goal.
