Ladies All-Ireland Club IFC final: Inch Rovers 3-9, Naomh Mearnóg/Sylvesters 1-10 Inch Rovers yesterday captured the VHI Healthcare All-Ireland ladies intermediate club football title with a 3-9 to 1-10 victory over Naomh Mearnóg at a wintry Nowlan Park.
The Cork side rattled home three second-half goals to lift the crown after trailing 0-3 to 0-9 at half-time. Sinead Aherne scored four first-half points for Dublin outfit Naomh Mearnóg to help establish their interval lead.
However, goals by Claire Keohane and Amy O'Shea dragged Rovers back level with just 12 minutes to go before Katie Slattery's goal edged Naomh Mearnóg three points ahead once again.
But Rovers refused to lie down and, inspired by Mary O'Connor, they dominated the remainder of the game. It was a second goal by O'Shea which sealed the win for the Cork side.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Kildare's Eadestown won the All-Ireland junior title with a 3-14 to 0-4 replay victory over Monaghan side Emyvale in Pearse Park.
Denise McDonagh (1-2), Fiona Dowling (1-2) and Bridget Goode (0-5) were best for Eadestown.
