New best for Bree still not enough

Co Down teenager Andrew Bree set a new personal best of two minutes 18.14 seconds in heat four of the men's 200m breaststroke earlier this morning.

The 19-year-old, swimming in lane one, knocked three tenths of a second off his previous best, but it was still not enough to see him through as it placed him 27th overall. He finished fifth in a heat won by Czech Daniel Malok.
