Carlow SHC Final/Mount Leinster Rangers 0-17 St Mullins 2-8: A storming final 20 minutes from Mount Leinster Rangers brought their first county title at Dr Cullen Park, Carlow, yesterday.
St Mullin's dominated first-half play but shot seven wides to their opponents' two. A 12th-minute goal from Jack Kavanagh put St Mullin's 1-1 to 0-3 in front and the sides were tied at 1-4 to 0-7 at half-time.
St Mullin's went five points clear by the 38th minute with points by Pat Coady and John Murphy, supplemented by Kavanagh's second goal. By the 54th minute the champions elect were in front again when Richard Coady scored to leave it 0-14 to 2-7. Mount Leinster maintained their domination with Edward Coady outstanding at wing back.
