Maguire twins advance in Westport

The Maguire twins, Lisa and Leona, both booked their places in the last 16 of the Lancome Irish Women's Close Championship at Westport today.

The 13-year-old's from Slieve Russell recorded impressive wins with Lisa defeating Athlone's Ann Geoghegan 5&4 while Leona overcame defending champion Karen Delaney 5&3.

The foundations for Lisa's win were built early on, three birdies in the first four holes setting a pace Geoghegan was unable to match.
