Knight Legend will lead a three-horse raid from Jessica Harrington's stable to Ascot today as he attempts to win his first race over fences in the Grade Two Scanmoor Noel Novices Chase.

The Irish hope faces four high-class opponents in the £40,000 contest where he will be ridden by Mick Fitzgerald who will also team up with the Harrington runners, Bunmahon in the novice handicap chase, and Tragumna in the handicap hurdle.

Knight Legend has been placed in three of his four chase starts including finishing runner-up to O'Muircheartaigh at Punchestown on his last start.

This afternoon's home action is at Gowran where Bridge Run looks a very interesting runner in the two and a half mile maiden hurdle.

Noel Meade's point-to-point winner was an impressive bumper scorer at Galway in October over Shuil A Hocht and he looks to have more potential than either Freds Benefit and Clarkey.

Franklins Trail avoids that race and instead will bid to build on an encouraging comeback at Fairyhouse in the two mile maiden.

Cave Gold from the Robert Tyner yard is an interesting runner on his fourth start in the novice handicap hurdle while Jack Ingham will be hard to beat in the second maiden hurdle.
