Camogie/Kilkenny 4-7 Galway 2-5: Kilkenny won the inaugural minor A All-Ireland final at McDonagh Park, Nenagh, yesterday.
Twice in the opening half the game was level, but then came the turning point of the game when Marie Dargan shot her second goal to leave the score Kilkenny 2-3 Galway 1-2.
Kilkenny went on to score four more points before the break, while Galway could only claim two in reply to leave the half-time score 3-7 to 1-4.
Within four minutes of the restart Kilkenny were a further goal up thanks to Lucinda Gahan.
Galway's half-back Sarah Noone tried her best, but alas several of her long-range frees went wide and with that went their only chance as their forwards were not up to the same standard as Kilkenny.
A goal in the 16th minute from Noreen Coen put a better picture on it for Galway, but once that fourth goal came early in the second half for Kilkenny, the Galway hearts dropped and their was no denying who would win. Galway just had no answer to a great Kilkenny team, who have finished the season with the under-16 and minor All-Ireland titles.
