Kerry keep good run going

Division Two/ Round-up: Kerry struggled for long periods in their Division Two B encounter with Meath at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney, before eventually maintaining their 100 per cent record, winning by 2-15 to 0-12.

John Mike Dooley proved the match winner. Dooley was starved of possession, but still managed to blast home two goals in the 50th and 60th minutes to bring his total in three games to 9-4.

Kerry dominated, but their marksmen often missed the target. They also failed to take advantage of the fact that Meath lost Martin Horan in the 24th minute when he was red carded for striking.

In the other Division Two B game, Mayo easily overcame the challenge of Carlow by 3-13 to 0-7.

Down remain unbeaten in the league following a 2-16 to 0-19 win over Kildare in their Division Two A game at Newbridge. Kildare rallied after the break, but suffered a huge setback when Ger McGrattan secured Down's second goal.

In the section's other game, Westmeath defeated Roscommon, 3-14 to 0-9.
