Kelly gets rout started

Wexford...6-17 Limerick..

Wexford...6-17 Limerick...1-04: Wexford started their senior All-Ireland championship campaign with an emphatic 6-17 to 1-4 victory over Limerick at Wexford Park on Saturday.

Limerick started brightly with Aoife Sheehan scoring a goal within two minutes of the throw-in. A couple of Kate Kelly goals then put the home team ahead and, when Michelle Hearne goaled before half-time, the game was over as a contest.

The other championship decider between Cork and Derry did not go ahead as Derry failed to field a team.
