SOCCER: Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Robbie Keane back from injury and are set to unveil two more new signings as their activity in the transfer market continued unabated yesterday.

Keane is expected to return from injury ahead of schedule when Spurs play at West Bromwich Albion tomorrow night. Having Keane back will be a boost for Ireland manager Brian Kerr ahead of Saturday week's World Cup game against Cyprus.

And the rejuvenation of White Hart Lane was continuing with Spurs agreeing a fee of £1.7 million with Nice for French defender Noe Pamarot while Michael Carrick is expected to complete his move from West Ham United after a medical yesterday.

Keane has been out of action since damaging an ankle ligament in a pre-season friendly with Rangers last month, but is back in full training and is likely be included in the squad to face newly-promoted West Brom at The Hawthorns.

Coach Jacques Santini said: "Robbie has been training and his fitness is good but we just need to check in his final training session whether he will be included. He is a very important player for my young team."

Spurs received another boost with news that Welsh midfielder Simon Davies should be back within a fortnight following a shin operation. Once Spurs sign Pamarot and Carrick, their number of new players this summer will rise to 10.
