The Irish duo of Michael McGeady and Colm Moriarty opened their bids to win the ECCO Tour Championship in Denmark with a pair of solid one under pr 69s at the Odense Golf Club.

Both men started their first rounds on the tenth tee, with McGeady putting together an eagle, a single birdie and two bogeys en route to his opening score, while Moriarty's up and down opening effort included five birdies and four dropped shots as he matched his fellow countryman.

Sweden's Oskar Henningsson leads the way after an excellent seven under par 63 gave him a one stroke advantage over the Argentine pair of Sebastian Fernandez and Hernan Rey, the Swedish pair of Andreas Högberg and Magnus Persson, and Denmark's Michael Jurgensen.
