The death has occurred of Clarrie Reddan (née Tiernan) after a short illness, just three weeks before her 91st birthday.

The death has occurred of Clarrie Reddan (née Tiernan) after a short illness, just three weeks before her 91st birthday.

An Irish champion in 1936 and Curtis Cup representative in 1938 and 1948, she represented Ireland with distinction in 1935, 1936, 1938, 1939, 1947, 1948, 1949 and again in 1955.

A native of Baltray, Co Louth, she will be remembered as one of the players who have carved a niche in the history of the game.
