SAILING: Today's final day of racing at the Miami Olympic Classes regatta will see Ireland's two rival Star-class contenders battle for maximum points at the end of their first of three selection-trials events.

In contrast to the opening races, triple Olympian Mark Mansfield and Killian Collins appeared to slip and lie 23rd overall after scoring a 29th place plus a discarded 33rd in yesterday's racing off Key Biscayne.

Meanwhile, Max Treacy and Anthony Shanks improved their form following earlier equipment problems to score a 17th but an earlier 36th was more typical of their standard this week. The Dún Laoghaire pair are 42nd overall.

Meanwhile, 49er-class hopefuls Tom Fitzpatrick and Fraser Brown slipped to sixth in their 20-boat fleet having previously been third overall. An eighth place in the first race was followed by a "Did Not Finish" maximum score later, using their discard.
