Celtic League/Edinburgh - 14 Glasgow - 9: Ally Hogg was at the centre of an injury scare as Edinburgh scrambled their way to a scrappy Magners League triumph at rain-lashed Murrayfield last night. The Scotland breakaway forward was taken off in agony with an injured arm during the second half.

Hugo Southwell came off the bench to rescue the home side, but his clinching try was tinged with controversy as the ball seemed to squirm from his grasp before it touched the ground.

Edinburgh led 6-0 at the break thanks to penalties by Chris Paterson. However, two penalties by Dan Parks and a drop-goal by Colin Gregor had the Warriors in front soon after the restart.

Edinburgh seized back the initiative with Southwell's touchdown and Duncan Hodge clipped over a drop-goal in injury-time.
