Clare Football final/Kilmurray 2-5 Eire Og 1-9: The Clare senior football final has been brought to replay after an injury-time point from goalkeeper and player-manager James Hanrahan kept Éire Óg's hopes alive.

Kilmurry-Ibrickane, who were disappointing early in the game and then revived their fortunes in the second half with a pair of goals from Johnny Daly, will rue the fact that they trailed by seven points at the break.

Éire Óg fully deserved their 1-6 to 0-2 advantage at half-time as they snuffed out a sluggish Ibrickane side in the opening half, hitting the net after three minutes with a David Monahan goal.

Seán O'Meara put eight points between the sides within a minute of the re-start, but a never-say-die approach from the Quilty men after the break saw them take the lead by the 44th minute.

Two goals and three points within an 11-minute spell, was a superb return form a forward line that never threatened in the first period, with Daly, who up to yesterday had recorded 5-29 in five championship games, coming to his side's rescue once more.

He hit two goals in quick succession and by the end of the third quarter, Kilmurry had sensationally overhauled the deficit to lead by 2-5 to 1-7.

Éire Óg's O'Meara and Daly exchanged points by the 52nd minute, and it wasn't until six and a half minutes into injury-time that Hanrahan stepped up to kick a free from 42 metres, sending the tie to a replay.
