Sigerson Cup Garda College 0-12 Waterford IT 1-4: Garda College carried too much firepower for Waterford IT at Templemore yesterday, where a late penalty miss by WIT robbed the game of a grandstand finish.

Garda were in control in the first half. They had four points on the board inside 18 minutes, three from the very impressive David Marshall, before Limerick's Stephen Fox netted for WIT. At half-time Garda led 0-6 to 1-2.

Though WIT drew level with a Ronan McGuire point inside a minute of the resumption, Garda soon regained control with five unanswered points.

A point by PJ Banville for WIT five minutes from time left only four points in it.
