Gaelic matters in Galway may be focused on football but early next week the county board will meet to discuss the county's hurling manager.

Current manager Mattie Murphy is most likely to be reappointed for another year at least but among the names circulating this week as possible nominations include Noel Lane, Michael Bond and Sean Stack. Galway's win over Tipperary in this season's All-Ireland quarter-final was their first notable championship win in over six years.
