THE COLD snap continued to hit soccer in Britain yesterday with Notts County’s FA Cup third-round tie against Forest Green Rovers an early victim. An inspection yesterday morning found a frozen pitch at Meadow Lane.
“I would like to thank all the groundsmen for their sterling efforts in the past 36 hours,” said executive chairman Peter Trembling. Three FA Cup ties were among a raft of matches postponed on Saturday.
In Scotland, the Edinburgh derby between Hibernian and Hearts was given the go-ahead following an early-morning inspection at Easter Road.
