Dungannon capitalise on late Portadown gifts

Portadown finished bottom of Group One in the battle of the wooden spoon last night

Portadown finished bottom of Group One in the battle of the wooden spoon last night. All three goals came in a late flurry with Portadown substitute goalkeeper Paul Murphy presenting the Swifts with their two scores.

Dungannon took the lead on 74 minutes when David Scullion crossed from the left and Murphy palmed it out into the path of Timmy Adamson who fired home from 10 yards.

Murphy was again to blame when the Swifts made it 2-0 on 84 minutes. He failed to cut out a Pedro Delgado free-kick from the left and David Bulow nipped in to shoot home from close range.

Portadown scored their consolation goal two minutes later, courtesy of Henry McStay. Dungannon half-cleared a Kyle Neill corner, and McStay raced in to score from 16 yards - but it was too little too late.
