Gaelic Games: The Dublin football championship was thrown into fresh turmoil yesterday with the announcement from Croke Park that the semi-final between Na Fianna and St Vincent's was being postponed from its fixed date of next Friday, October 27th, writes Seán Moran.
The Dublin county board GAC will re-fix the match next week.
That Croke Park was involving itself is a reflection of the reason behind the postponement: that Ireland international rules captain Kieran McGeeney, who plays with Na Fianna, should be given time to prepare for the two tests against Australia on this day week in Galway and tomorrow fortnight in Dublin.
