Surfing: In a spectacular finale to the Heineken Windsurfing Tour at Roundstone, Co Galway yesterday, Oisin Van Gelderen took his fifth consecutive national championship title. How long his reign will continue, however, remains to be seen as Irish windsurfing's newest star, Maurice Owens had his first ever event win this weekend.
Athletics: Following Sonia O'Sullivan's surprise appearance in yesterday's Dublin Marathon her arch rival Paula Radcliffe announced she is planning an assault on the world half-marathon title in Mexico on November 12th.
Drugs: Professor Francesco Conconi, of the sports science department at the University of Ferrara in Italy, yesterday denied accusations that he was involved in distributing substances, including, EPO to 63 athletes, amongst them cyclist Marco Pantani.
