AN INSPIRATIONAL display from MVP Ciaran Devitt helped Ennistymon claim the Boys’ Under-19C cup with a 76-55 victory over Mountrath CS at at the All-Ireland Schools’ Finals at the NBA in Tallaght yesterday. Devitt, recently named on the Ireland Under-18 squad, turned in stats of 23 points and 18 rebounds.

Ennistymon led 37-27 at the interval, but Dennis Curran and Eoghan Lawlor helped Mountrath reduce the deficit to 50-46 before 11 points from Ronan Linnane in the final quarter sealed Ennistymon’s victory. Meanwhile, Deirdre Ní Ghéibheanaigh scored 21 points as Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne won the under-16B Cup by defeating St Nathy’s, Roscommon, 49-36.
