Defending 100-metres Olympic champion Donovan Bailey's morale is in terrible shape after falling ill with flu his agent Ray Flynn said earlier this morning.

"He is feeling under the weather and has flu-like symptoms such as a cough and a cold," Flynn said. "He must have picked it up on the way down from Brisbane where he was training."

Flynn, a former top-class 1,500-metres runner for Ireland, said that Canada's Bailey is still expected to line-up for the first-round heats tomorrow.
