Eamonn Darcy, runner-up to Paul McGinley in the Irish Professional Championship at Baltray, Co Louth over the weekend, will be among the favourites to lift the Bank of Ireland Mastercard sponsored Southern Branch PGA title at Powerscourt on Thursday. With Paul McGinley in St Andrews for the Dunhill Cup, the in-form Darcy will be looking to go one better than at Baltray, when his score of 274 saw him finish four strokes adrift. However, Damien McGrane, the holder, Philip Walton, John Dwyer, Michael Allan, Martin Sludds and the Walkers brother David and Leslie should make it an interesting contest for the first prize.
