Crescent College 24; Glenstal Abbey 8: In spite of a pluckyperformance by Glenstal, Crescent duly qualified for the final of the Munster Schools' Junior Cup with a convincing win at Thomond Park yesterday.

Crescent went ahead after nine minutes when flanker Stephen Keyes charged down an attempted clearance and went over for a try which was converted by Paddy O'Carroll. The lead was increased with a try by Paul O'Shaughnessy before Denis Halton reduced Glenstal's arrears with a penalty after 25 minutes.

Cian Ahearne and Michael South added further tries in the second half, one of which O'Carroll converted, before Glenstal were rewarded for their endeavour with a late try by Conor Quinn.

•Methodist College defeated Bangor GS 49-14 at Ravenhill yesterday to make it an all-Belfast Ulster Schools Cup final on St Patrick's Day, just like last year, when Methody beat RBAI.

Tries by Robbie Sloan, Ryan Duffy, Luke McCadden, Steven Minnis, Mark Graham, Dave Denny and Mark Kettyle contributed to the Methody tally. It was 25-7 at half-time. Paul Kelly and Gavin McMurtry scored tries for Bangor.
