Roscommon 2-12 London 2-7: Producing one of their best performances since their last league success four years ago, London came close to ending Roscommon's unbeaten run at Ruislip yesterday.
With the scores level seven minutes from the end London looked set for a major upset but Roscommon's greater experience came to their rescue in the final stages when a goal by substitute Jonathan Gunning and points by Derek Connellan and Nigel Dineen ensured them of victory.
The winners owed much to half forward Gary Cox, scorer of four points at vital periods in the match, with full back Andy McPadden, stand-in for the injured Michael Ryan, also outstanding.
And on this showing London manager John McParland could well be on the verge of ending London's dismal run.
