Sigerson Cup/DCU 2-13 UL 0-04:Dublin star Bernard Brogan ensured DCU kept one hand on their Sigerson Cup trophy with a scoring burst of 1-5 against an out-of-touch UL at the UL campus yesterday.

It was Mayo's Conor Mortimer who set the tone for a one-sided victory with a brace of points inside the opening four minutes, and, with Owen Lennon and Ross McDonnell in commanding form, the holders raced to a 0-11 to 0-1 interval advantage. Alan O'Sullivan kicked the lone UL point at the whistle.

Mortimer took up from where he had started by increasing DCU's advantage, but when Frank Lynch replied with a hat-trick of points, it was thought UL were ready to mount a challenge.

However, they failed to score again. Brogan finished to the net in 40 minutes to make it 1-11 to 0-4, and substitute Cian Hanratty claimed their second goal two minutes from the finish.
