Congested memory

Bertie Ahern, in his exclusive interview with Setanta

Bertie Ahern, in his exclusive interview with Setanta.com, appears to have had a memory lapse over the use age of Croke Park by the GAA. In the interview, Ahern spoke about the limited use the stadium would be to soccer because of the agreement Croke Park has with local residents.

" . . . the redevelopment was allowed to proceed through agreement with the residents on the condition that there would be Sunday games between May and September, with no major events during the year and only one concert per year. Anything else would be unacceptable to the community that lives there . . ," he said.

Last summer alone, Leinster final, All-Ireland semi-final and All-Ireland final replays were staged on Saturdays.
