Kildare SHC Semi-finals: Confey advanced to the county hurling final yesterday courtesy of a very impressive 0-14 to 1-7 victory over an experienced Coill Dubh at Radley Park, Leixlip.

Clare goalkeeper Davy Fitzgerald has been providing Confey with some coaching in recent weeks and was in attendance to provide his support.

Confey led by three points when Seánie Gordon goaled and Tom Carew pointed to put Coill Dubh ahead, but four points by Ciarán Divilly, Mark Fennelly, Mick Divilly and Dara Nolan turned it all around.

In the other semi-final, Ardclough showed no signs of tiredness as they finished strongly to turf champions Celbridge out of the championship 1-14 to 0-13 on Saturday.
