Darren Clarke's bid to fight his way back up the world rankings hit another stumbling block this morning as he failed to make the cut at the Singapore Masters.
Having slipped to 52nd in the world following some indifferent form so far this year, Clarke had targetted this week to get his season back on track. But the 38-year-old followed up yesterday's 74 with a second round 73 to finish three-over, one off the mark.
Clarke was in some illustrious company as Lee Westwood and last year's Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam also missed weekend play by a single stroke.
Peter Lawrie, meanwhile, lies just three strokes off Jyoti Randhawa's lead of 11-under after a round of 70.
Randhawa, winner of the Singapore Open in 2000, holds a one stroke lead after following his opening 65 on the Classic course with a four-under 68 on the Masters.
The 24-year-old from New Delhi had seven birdies but saw his lead trimmed to just one stroke after making his third bogey of the round on the penultimate hole to finish the day on 11 under.
