French League Final/Biarritz 40 Toulouse 13: Biarritz won their second French championship title in a row when they thrashed Trevor Brennan's Toulouse at the Stade de France on Saturday. The Basque country club gained some compensation for their defeat by Munster in the Heineken European Cup final by outscoring the 2005 European champions five tries to one.
Leading 9-6 at half-time, Biarritz took command when wings Jean-Baptiste Gobelet and Sireli Bobo, centre Damien Traille, hooker Benoit August and number eight Imanol Harinordoquy all crossed. Dimitri Yachvili added three conversions and three penalties.
Toulouse replied with a consolation try by flanker Gregory Lamboley, a conversion and a penalty by Jean-Baptiste Elissalde and a drop-goal by outhalf Frederic Michalak.
