Sir, - Why do the media - feature writers in particular - keep banging on about the dreadful weather we have supposedly had this summer?
This is Ireland. The weather has always been like this. Get over it and think for a minute about the real victims of wet weather in the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Russia and China.
And if tourists are avoiding our fair isle, it is mostly down to exorbitant costs, not because it has suddenly started raining. We don't need an inter-agency task force to work that one out. - Yours etc.,
