Madam, - The Russians are worried about the US's planned missile defence shield in central Europe - and well they might be if they read what was said by the Republican presidential candidates at the debate in New Hampshire last Tuesday.
As reported by Denis Staunton in your edition of June 7th, "most refused to rule out using nuclear weapons to attack Iran".
It sends a shiver down my spine to think that the next president of the US might be someone who considers a pre-emptive nuclear strike on Iran a permissible option.- Yours, etc,
