U2 AT THE SUPER BOWL

PAUL SODEN,

PAUL SODEN,

Sir, - Like Dearbhla Kelly (February 7th), I would have expected better from a band who have been critical of certain aspects of American foreign policy.

Approximately 3,000 US citizens were unjustly killed on September 11th, but about 5,000 Afghan citizens have been killed in retaliation for this attack. That is equally wrong.

Do U2 condemn these deaths? If so, they must go public with their condemnation. If they remain silent, we can only assume that U2 view US citizens to be of more importance than Afghan citizens. Perhaps the promotion of record sales is more important to U2 than the promotion of human rights. - Yours, etc
