Madam, - Tinted front windscreens create a greater hazard than those mentioned in recent letters. A pedestrian needs to see the driver's eyes before crossing in front of a car. So does another motorist waiting to pull out, in slow-moving or stationary traffic.

However well the driver can see out, opaque front windows are a danger to other road users. The Minister should give notice of a ban without delay. - Yours, etc,
