Sir, - Justin O'Flatherty (August 12th) fails to mention that any city which consumes must have somewhere to store the products of this consumption. Container depots and oil terminals are indeed ugly but must be managed efficiently in order to have a city that functions properly.

Dublin cannot be allowed to export the dirty side of its industry the same way it exported its waste problem to Wicklow. - Yours etc.,
