The cost of new children’s hospital

Sir, – Ernest Blythe, where are you now that we need you? – Yours, etc,

DERMOT

O’SHEA,

Churchtown,

Dublin 14.

A chara, – I refer to Jim Holohan’s letter (February 12th). He writes: “Meanwhile Intel is quietly planning a factory extension in Leixlip estimated to cost €7 billion.”

What odds are the bookies offering on the Intel plant being built on time, under budget and years before the new children’s hospital? – Is mise,

SEAN

O’KIERSEY,

Blackrock,

Co Dublin.

Sir, – If Intel were to build the hospital, it would be built and operating on time and on initial budget. If we had the chip facility managed by the other side, we would still be using pencils and slide rules. – Yours, etc,

JOHN K ROGERS,

Rathowen,

Co Westmeath.
