Madam, - I am shocked at the treatment of school teachers by the Government over the nitty- gritty of benchmarking. If there is one profession where enthusiasm is an integral and vital constituent it is teaching. We have done rather well in Ireland so far, but God damn the Government that breaks the spirit of its teachers. Sorry, but that is how I feel. Where is our sense of priorities? - Yours, etc.,
