Sir, – Skellig Michael caters for thousands of visitors each year and great care is taken to ensure no damage is done to the natural habitat.
Likewise the film crews visiting the island are under the same obligation and to suggest otherwise is silly.
The positive benefits to tourism and the exposure this will give to Co Kerry are immense and this will have been carefully considered when permission was granted.
I am unaware of any disquiet among the local community on Valentia Island at this additional filming.
